Product
separation wheel
If your products do not arrive separated, a simple wheel is added
upstream of the labeller to space
the products apart. Variable speed allows the spacing needed
and the speed control is mounted inside the control cabinet.
For those labellers with recipe management the speed settings
can be recalled with each product.

Prism Aligner
Some times
the bottom of containers can be rounded or a tall container
can wobble as it enters the wrap belt. So although the wrap
belt, label head and conveyor are perfectly square, the
container is not.
A Prism
aligner solves this by grabbing the container against the wrap
belt to align and rotate it a fraction of a second before the
label is inserted.
This reduces
the maximum output speeds to approx 60/minute. |

Power
Unwinder
For a
standard 11 ¾ “ diameter roll no Power unwind is necessary but
for tall labels on the 14” diameter roll or for a 16” diameter
roll a power unwind is recommended. This relieves the
pressure on the web (less likely to break at a weak point) and
gives more consistent labeling.
|
|
|
Low & Broken
Web detectors
If the web
should break, or if the roll is low various things can happen
according to your options, or preferences.
-
The machine
stops
-
An alarm
sounds
-
Stack
lights (Optional) can flash

Oversize
infeed rolls
The
standard 11 ¾ “ diameter roll has a 3” diameter core, but
optionally there are 14” diameter rolls or 16” diameter rolls.
A power unwind is recommended for the larger rolls.
|
|
|
Tall Label
extenders
The
standard label head handles labels up to 6 3/8”, but
optionally there are two extension kits…to 8” tall and to 13”
tall.
|
|
|
Tall Wrap
Belt
The
standard wrap belt is 3” tall, but with larger backing plates
labels up to 6” tall can usually be handled. An optional Wrap
belt of 6” tall can handle most other taller labels with the
appropriate backing plate.

Safety
Guarding
Dependent on the customer’s requirements, the application, and
the local requirements, a variety of Safety guards can be
fitted. Consultation with the factory and your safety officer
should be made to determine the appropriate guarding for your
application.

Hot Stamp
Coder
We can
mount most hot Stamp Coders on your label head, and have
brackets available for the common ones. If you have no
preference we can recommend an appropriate one.

Thermal
Transfer Printer
The print head is a
semi-conductor in which a miniature row of printing elements
is encapsulated within a ceramic coating. The print line (the
area of the print head that is used to create the print) has
300 "elements" per inch. These are turned on and off in rapid
succession and in turn melt the ink from the ribbon and print
it on the label.
Due to the fact that the
characters are formed electronically, thermal transfer
printing can print "real time" information, graphics and
barcodes.
|
 |
|
Luminescence
detector
In order to
detect whether a clear label has been applied to a container
or carton, it may be necessary to treat the label with UV
fluorescing material which can be detected by a Luminescence
detector.
|
|
|
Bar
Code Reader
Various
detectors (or Vision Systems) are available to
read the bar codes. Depending on the
application simple or sophisticated systems are available,
which can be used in combination with reject stations.
|
 |
|
Missing Label
detector
Various
detectors (or Vision Systems) are available to detect the
correct application of a label or labels. Depending on the
application simple or sophisticated systems are available,
which can be used in combination with reject stations.
|
 |
|
Reject
Station
Depending on
faults that may be detected by Vision systems, missing label
detectors, bar code scanners and/or other safety devices, any
faulty product can be directed into a reject shelf or bin,
with an optional confirmation sensor that the faulty product
was correctly rejected.
Stack
lights can warn of faults, and the labeler can be programmed
to shut down if too many consecutive faults are detected.

Vision
Systems
The
ultimate in safety devices a Vision system can be mounted with
single or multiple cameras to inspect as much or as little as
needed. These systems can be sophisticated or simple, and we
mount many of the popular brands, or can recommend one if you
have no particular favourite. |
 |
|
Extended
Conveyors
The conveyor
can be extended to a length you need, or we can design a
complete system for you. Our Modular conveyors and turntables
can be regular or raised bed sanitary.
It is
recommended to try to limit the number of machines on the
labeler conveyor to give the flexibility of precisely
controlling the labeler without affecting other machines.
Ideally for a high speed production facility, surge turntables
should be located before the labeler to allow time for label
roll change without slowing down the rest of the line.

Product
aligner - Belt system
Rectangular,
oval and shaped containers can require pre-aligning before
labeling to ensure perfect label placement. If the product is
off centre – so will the label be.
Our exclusive
belt system aligns most containers, and has the advantage of
automatically configuring itself to different containers,
however some containers, particularly fat ovals, are stubborn
and require a single or even dual worm infeed to align them!

Product
aligner - Worm system
Rectangular,
oval and shaped containers can require pre-aligning before
labeling to ensure perfect label placement. If the product is
off centre – so will the label be.
The worm
system is the ultimate in alignment devices, but requires a
worm for each container. On our Premier labeler the worm
drive is interchangeable with our Belt aligner, so that only
those that need a worm have to have a worm.
The worm has
the added advantage that it also acts as a product separator.
